Comments:
Please convey our deepest sympathy and prayers for Ciara's Mother and
the Durkin Family. Even though we never meet her personally we could
feel her warmth and love thru her wonderful family gatherings at the
Quinn/Nugent homestead. So sorry we cannot be there, but you are all
in Sue Ellen's and my thoughts daily.
All our prayers!
John & Sue Ellen H.

Only met her once, but she is one of those people who you remember.
Like someone once said "You know you've met someone special when they
don't remind you of anyone else. "God bless and my deepest condolences
to family and friends.

COMMENTS:
It is with deepest sympathy I extend to your family at this very
difficult time. Ciara worked for me for several years while at The
Boston Alzheimer's Center, now Rogerson House. She matured very much
during this time and grew into a wonderful recreation
assistant/program assistant. Her compassion and dedication in working
with the residents was always evident. She was truly an asset to our
department, and to the whole facility. After moving on to work at
Fenway Health Center full-time, she still continued to dedicate her
weekends to our dementia clients. She communicated quite often to me
over the phone about her concerns, and shared new ideas and
suggestions. Although you don't know me, I will remember Ciara as a
loving and caring individual with very high morals. I only hope that
you can find some answers to your questions. My prayers are with you
  1. Sincerely, Jennifer H

COMMENTS:
My heart goes out to Ciara's family and all those she loved. I knew
Ciara from St. Luke's and St. Margaret's Episcopal Church. I knew
her to be a loving, mischievous, hard working and devoted young woman.
I live near the Army National Guard in Dorchester on Victory Rd.
Each time I have passed by that site, I've thought of Ciara and
offered up a prayer for her safety and the safety of all of our
troops. I will keep on praying . . .

I was very surprised to hear about this She will be missed a lot hear
great personality always cheered us up at pre-basic and i looked up to
her what she put herself through to get into the military it gave me a
lot of hope when i had to lose weight and didn't think i could do it
almost all the girls i've spoken to remember her and its been over 2
years now for some of us since4 we last spoke to her. You are very
blessed to have had such a wonderful person in your family I pray
that you make it through this and the truth comes out about what
happened we know in the military it's always "Hurry up and Wait", so
stay strong because she is. I wish we all could have seen her and she
will be missed and never forgotten. God Bless –Nicole

COMMENTS:
I only met Ciara shortly before she left for her service overseas,
but knew even before I met her that she was a special person. I was
not disappointed. We shared a love of animals, and the Red Sox,
shared an interest in WW II war stories, and shared war stories of
growing up in Dorchester that always seem to bring a smile to the
lips and a tear to the eye. We also shared a deep admiration and
affection for her friend and animal rescue partner Jen Jensen with
whom Ciara saved soooo many lives!! I was so proud of Ciara...and
then to top it off, she goes and saves the life of a guy twice her
size!! I am surprised I have any buttons left!! I was so looking
forward to getting closer to Ciara when she returned from duty. I
regret that I am unable to attend the services for Ciara as I am
taking care of my mother who is in hospice in California. Please
accept my sincere condolences and thoughts and prayers for courage
and comfort that god's abiding love offers at this tragic time, and
for Godspeed in your quest for justice and peace that truth may bring
for Ciara, you her family, and all those who knew her and held her
close to their hearts. For me, Ciara will always remain a true Irish
Rose enjoying warm and gentle breezes in God's garden.

COMMENTS:
I meet Ciara for the first time on a hot sunny day in June with her
brother Pierce. As I got to know Ciara, we would have some great
conversations mostly about politics. I will very much miss those
conversations and will always cherish them. As I wipe those tears
from my eyes, I know that Ciara is in a wonderful place, and that we
will see each other again some day. As we move on in life we will
always carry a little bit of Ciara with us. I would like to extend
my deepest heart felt sympathy to Pierce and the rest of the Durkin
family. May God be with your family in this very difficult time. And
may God bless us all!
