COMMENTS:
To The Durkin Family: My heart goes out to all of you at the shocking
loss of Ciara. Special thoughts go to dear Angela, dealing with a
sorrow no mother should have to face. As one of seven brothers and
sisters, I know that each member of the family has their own special
place and it is hard to imagine what you are going through. I will
always think of Ciara when I first met her as a young girl, full of
energy, intelligence, and good humor and curious about absolutely
everything. She loved laughter, music and most of all, her family. I
am sorry not to be with you this weekend, as I will be going out of
town for the 4th birthday of my youngest niece and only godchild.
Each of you will be in my thoughts and prayers this weekend and in
the days ahead. With my deepest sympathy. Love, Jeanne

COMMENTS:
Dear Pierce and family, I remember when you first arrived in
Dorchester and the children started school at St. Mark's. Ciara was
adorable with her beautiful red curls. I admired how she kept a
watchful eye out for her younger brother Pierce. Ciara was full of
life and had a twinkle in her eye every time I met her in the
hallways. I've read many articles about Ciara since her passing and
have learned that she was truly a credit to her family and grew into
an outstanding woman of courage. I will keep all of you in my prayers
during this difficult. Love, Your former 5th grade teacher Miss

COMMENTS:
Pierce, Don & I share your family's loss. Since we three come from
very large families we understand how you feel losing not only a
sister but also a friend. The only fact I can share with you is a
person become part of everyone they meet and become part of who they
become and live on through them. She made a difference the world is
better off because of her. Give our love to your family. Gordon Don

COMMENTS:
I only met Ciara a few times before she enlisted in the service, but
what a treat it was...She was such a delight! Pierce talks about his
beloved sister all the time and she must be so happy to know that as
she rests she is loved by such a warm, kind, caring family and an
entire nation of friends. Much love and strength to you as you mourn
this incredible loss.

COMMENTS:
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the entire Durkin
family, and to Haidee. I will miss Ciara deeply. She was such a
fun, wonderful, caring, loving, and kind person. I am proud to have
been able to call her my friend. I am also very grateful to her for
her service on our behalf in Afghanistan. Ciara is a hero. I look
forward to telling my children all about her (well most of our
stories that is!) and will do my part to honor her memory. You are
all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Helen P.

COMMENTS:
I am terribly sorry. I remember Ciara and Pierce when they moved
into the Murphy's home for awhile, two chatty little redheads.
Please accept my sincere condolences.
